Allow Myself to Introduce…Myself
My name is Cat, and it’s so nice to (virtually) meet you! I’m glad to give you a little peek into my hometown, education, hobbies, and life passion! I’m so excited to share with you my hardcore love for beauty in this online space. Makeup is an art form I was astonished by from the day I started wearing it at age 14. Later on, I worked as a Beauty Advisor at a high-end cosmetics boutique. I learned that makeup is way more than just fun colors and glam…It’s a therapeutic confidence boost, and I started this blog so we can all share that I-can-conquer-the-world feeling together!
I was born and raised in a small town outside of Pittsburgh, PA, which is most commonly referred to as Flood City. I’d give you the lengthy historical rundown, but I’ll save you some time with this LINK if you’re like me and are constantly curious. I have a deep love for my hometown, regardless of all the disaster it’s been through. Again, follow the link to learn more. Johnstown is a place built on big dreams, hard work, and perseverance, and I’m forever proud to be a product of it! This isn’t the last time you’ll see the words “Flood City” on my blog. You’ve been warned.
As for my education and professional career, I started my schooling in the heart of Nashville, TN, where I studied Vocal Performance. Needless to write, I have a serious love for music and the arts and have been known to sing a tune or two. Eventually, I moved back to PA to obtain a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Penn State University (insert obvious, expected, and necessary WE ARE! here). During my first job out of college, I worked as a TV news anchor and reporter in Upstate New York and parts of Vermont. As a morning person and lover of Winter (I know, who am I?), I rarely blinked an eye at the overnight/ridiculously early morning shifts and fell head over heels in love with the stunning scenery that both New York State (the best part of NY!) and Vermont offer. Presently, I live in the Philadelphia suburbs and work as an on-air guest host at the number one home shopping network in America. I’ll leave you to guess which one!
Outside of the workforce, I competed in the Miss America Organization from age 14 to 24 and am still involved to this day. At 14, I was a total tomboy who wanted absolutely nothing to do with pageantry but am forever thankful I took the plunge. After all, it’s what sparked my interest in makeup…and, world peace. Through my competition days in both PA and NY, I made lifelong friends, who I’m sure you’ll see on my blog and channel! I’ve also worked with organizations like Dress for Success to empower women to go for their dreams in life!
Outside of pageant/TV glam, I live for food, makeup, wine, travel, and writing. I’ve been known to clean the bones of chicken wings like it’s my job, all thanks to where I grew up. Probably shouldn’t brag about that, but it is what it is.
In the meantime, I can’t wait to share more with you about inner and outer beauty! Makeup can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be! We’ve got each other!
Thanks for learning more about me, and I’m so excited to learn more about you in return!
“Never forget where you came from.”
